About Milwaukee

Satellite view showing Milwaukee, largest city and the main cultural and economic center in the State of Wisconsin in the

United States. The city is located on the shore of Lake Michigan at the confluence of three rivers: the Menomonee, the Kinnickinnic, and the Milwaukee river. The city lies about 145 km (90 mi) by road (via I-94 E) north of Chicago in the southeastern corner of Wisconsin.

Milwaukee has a population of about 600,000 inhabitants (in 2014), in its metropolitan area live more than 1.5 million people.

Milwaukee is home to the Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The city also features the Discovery World Museum and the Milwaukee Art Museum. Milwaukee earned the nickname, the "City of Festivals", most famous, the Summerfest (The Big Gig), a yearly music festival and one of the largest music festivals in the world.
