Satellite view is showing the White House located at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington, D.C.. The building is since 1800 the official residence of the President of the United States.

The White House is recognized worldwide as the symbol of the Presidency, of the President's administration, and of the global political role of the United States.

Washington, D.C. was designated as the site for the United States capital in the 1790 Residence Act. On November 1, 1800, President John Adams became the first occupant of the residence.

The White House Complex includes the central Executive Residence flanked by the East Wing and West Wing. The Executive Residence houses the president's home, as well as rooms for ceremonies and official entertaining.
The President has at his disposal 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, twenty-eight fireplaces, eight staircases, three elevators, five full-time chefs, a tennis court, a (single-lane) bowling alley, a movie theater, a jogging track, a swimming pool, and a putting green.

The property is owned by the National Park Service and is part of the President's Park.
