Geography of Bolivia
Bolivia's geography offers some really interesting features. The country is still more rural than urban, but it has the highest capital cities in the world, La Paz lies at an altitude of 3640 m and Sucre at 2750 m, only surpassed by Ecuador's capital Quito (2850 m). Bolivia's capitals are situated on the Andean Plateau (Altiplano) in the western part of the country.

The Cordillera Occidental (the Western mountains)
The extinct stratovolcano Nevado Sajama (6,542 m or 21,463 ft) is Bolivia's highest peak, the mountain is situated in the Cordillera Occidental, a chain of dormant volcanoes and solfataras, volcanic vents emitting sulfurous gases. The mountain range in the west of the country forms the natural border with Chile and is part of the Andes.

The Cordillera Real
The mountain range in the Andean Plateau of Bolivia is located southeast of Lake Titicaca, and east of the Bolivian capital of La Paz, with a length of 125 km and 20 km in width. Within the range there are seven mountains with summits higher than 6,000 m.

Lake Titicaca
Titicaca is one of the highest elevation and largest lakes in South America, it is fed by five major rivers and more than 20 other smaller streams empty into the lake. Titicaca is is mutually governed by Bolivia and Peru.

The Beni savanna. The tropical ecoregion is also known as the Moxos plains, and covers an area in the lowlands of northern Bolivia of more than 3 times the size of Switzerland.

The sparsely populated Bolivian Chaco, part of the Gran Chaco, is a vast hot and semi-arid lowland region east of the Andes.
