The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistic composite index of life expectancy, education, and income per capita indicators, which are used to rank countries into four tiers of human development:
Very High Human Development
High Human Development
Medium Human Development
Low Human Development
The HDI focuses only on the fundamental dimensions of human development. Other important aspects of human development are not considered, such as the questionable human rights situation in some countries, the level of corruption or the freedom of the press.
