The highly infectious respiratory disease of unknown origin (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome = SARS) has been reported especially from Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Vietnam. WHO has issued a global alert and calls for international surveillance to localize suspected cases of the disease. SARS symptoms SARS main symptoms and signs of SARS include: High fever (>38°C) AND one or more respiratory symptoms including cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing AND one or more of the following: close contact with a person who has been diagnosed with SARS recent history of travel to areas reporting cases of SARS.
