SOUTH JAKARTA, Indonesia, 9 September A terrorist attack took place at Rasuna Said street, Kuningan, South Jakarta, around 10:30 a.m. Jakarta time, Thursday morning, 9 September 2004. Initial police investigation indicates that the bomb explosion may have come from a car bomb which exploded near the entrance gate of the premises of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta. The modality of this morning's attack resembles the method used by the terrorists at the Bali bombing (12 Oktober 2002) and the Marriott bombing (5 August 2003). Therefore, there is strong suspicion that the same group is behind the attack this morning. 9 people were killed, 182 were injured including police officers, and dozens of others are being treated in hospitals for their injuries.
