About Milwaukee

The city is located on the shore of Lake Michigan at the confluence of three rivers: the Menomonee, the Kinnickinnic, and the Milwaukee river. The city lies about 145 km (90 mi) by road (via I-94 E) north of Chicago in the southeastern corner of Wisconsin.

Milwaukee has a population of about 600,000 inhabitants (in 2014), in its metropolitan area live more than 1.5 million people.

Milwaukee is home to the Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The city also features the Discovery World Museum and the Milwaukee Art Museum. Milwaukee earned the nickname, the "City of Festivals", most famous, the Summerfest (The Big Gig), a yearly music festival and one of the largest music festivals in the world.
