Christiansborg Palace on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen, it houses the principal institutions of the Danish government: the Danish Parliament (Folketinget), the Prime Minister's Office and the Supreme Court.

The country's chief port is located on the eastern shore of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) and partly on the island of Amager at the Oresund (Øresund), the strait that connects the North Sea with the Baltic Sea.

The city is home to the Folketing (the Danish parliament), the Danish Prime Minister's Office and the Danish Supreme Court (all located in Christiansborg Palace).

Copenhagen is recognized as one of the world's most environmentally friendly cities and as one of the cities with the best quality of life.
500,000 inhabitants make up the city population of Copenhagen, official language is Danish.
