Map is showing Iceland, an island country in the North Atlantic Ocean, just south of the Arctic Circle, at the northern end of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The island is volcanically active and only about 20 percent habitable. Capital city is Reykjavik. The closest bodies of land are Greenland in west (287 km (178 mi)) and the Faroe Islands n southeast (420 km (261 mi)) which are located north of UK. Depicted on the map are cities, towns, and villages (see below), main roads, and Reykjavík-Keflavík Airport (IATA code: KEF), Iceland’s international airport. The Icelandic glaciers and Eyjafjallajökull glacier and volcano. Administrative Divisions of Iceland Iceland is divided into 8 regions, 6 constituencies, 23 counties, and 79 municipalities.
