Algeria, a republic in north western Africa, is bordering the Mediterranean coast to the north, Morocco in west, Mauritania and Mali in south west, Niger in south east, Libya and Tunisia in east and it has a small border strech to Western Sahara in west. The second-largest country in Africa, after Sudan, is covered by more than 80 percent by the Sahara Desert.
